Our Team

The People Behind the Mission

A small, dedicated team with decades of combined experience in survivor care, nonprofit leadership, and lived experience.

A note on identity protection: Due to the sensitive nature of anti-trafficking work, we use first names only and do not publish photos of our team members. This is a deliberate safety measure to protect both our staff and the survivors we serve. Photos will be available as appropriate in the future.

C

Caleb

Executive Director

Caleb has led Helping Captives from its earliest days, driving the vision for a complete continuum of care that goes far beyond rescue. With deep ties to the Spokane Valley community and years of experience working alongside law enforcement and survivor advocates, he brings both strategic clarity and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve. Under his leadership, Helping Captives secured its 8,500 sq ft facility and expanded operations to meet growing demand.

A

Anya

Program Director & Survivor Advocate

Anya came through the doors of Helping Captives as a survivor. Today, she leads programming and serves as a direct advocate for every woman in our care. Her lived experience gives her a perspective that no training can replicate — she understands the fear, the shame, and the hard road to healing because she has walked it herself. Anya designs and oversees every phase of our continuum of care, ensuring that programs are shaped by the reality of what survivors actually need.

W

Will

Operations

Will keeps the engine running. From facility management and logistics to financial oversight and vendor coordination, he handles the operational complexity that allows the rest of the team to focus entirely on survivor care. His background in nonprofit operations ensures that every dollar donated is stretched as far as it can go and that our infrastructure supports — rather than hinders — the mission.
